MOONCHILD
simple life pleasures, connection with nature
Sunday 24 April 2016
Please don't shout!
My eyes see, my ears are open
Let me know what your thoughts are, yes, please,
Really, Why should I mind when
You show me something fantastic, let me hear your latest
Let my wall be your screen and my life being your channel
Share your words, stick your poster on people's backs
And wipe it with my bloody flannel
As I walk I see, I hear everyone's mind
I see you, I see you, staring back, all of you, so unkind
Some of you yelling, spitting images and regurgitating words
Cacophony is not the issue, I can switch off, If I try
But please don't shout
Don't give me a tissue if I don't need to cry
Don't tell me what I should think, don't stick your opinions in my brain
Don't try to test me again and again
Let me breathe, let me discover and gently unfold
Let me have a say, let me stand alone or join you if I wish
Don't want to be always told
Don't tell me I am a woman
Don't tell me to be behave
Lipstick cherry blossom bosoms sex slave
Princess slut beauty and the beast
the brainwashing and the ignorance
your opinionated rubbish your high opinion and low tolerance
Don't shout at me about men and all men who are bastards
my man I respect has no say, I pray, do not interfere
with my lifestyle choices, my life is painted by me not by your fluorescent crap
don't shout about bombs and wars and your need of help
Before I can donate, support and interfere, I need to know you are honest and sincere
I am, surely, I am here and not out there
with you lot and your fears
my duty is to look after myself above all
so
please
don't
shout
I can't hear it, I can't feel it any longer
It's too much, too much
Overloaded and misinformed
confused, hurt and actually bored
Whatever you say, it's my decision
to break it, fake it, believe it and remake it
I won't repeat your story as we all know
How it gets distorted in the media
like Chinese whispers
I don't need to have a say
I don't need your hate
I don't need to like or reply
I don't need an instant mate
Don't put a label , don't post a comment
don't think feminism and equality are the same for not even a moment
Don't put me in the right place as the right place is your wrong place
Don't put me in a movement or a current or trend
because unlike you, you see I don't pretend
to know everythink
Don't start acting on my interaction
Don't poke me and wait for my reaction
Don't shout
I have listened but I am getting tired
Of hearing the same old same old
I don't like to be told
Don't say you are against violence and terrorist attacks
Don't show me too much I get panic attacks
What concerns me concerns the world
But I decide, I need to find the right word
to describe how I see myself inside all this turmoil
find my inner peace and connection to the soil
For I pray and say and hey
one more time I say and I pray
that I may just be deaf today
for tomorrow I will hear only
Silence
